As a baby photographer I specialize in black and white portraits. I am also the only Nationally Accredited child photographer working in Nova Scotia.
A proper b&w portrait is designed and composed with lighting specific for the monochrome image. I take the time and care to ensure your fine art b&w portrait is designed with you in mind. Black and white should be timeless. The skin tones should have a a smooth transition from the bright areas to the shadows. To further achieve this beautiful look I use a high end medium format camera. This type of camera is capable of so much more detail and range than your typical DSLR. This is very important making quality black and white wall portraits. As a baby photographer, getting those wonderfully smooth skin tones correct is important.
I have a spacious studio in Elmsdale, which is only 2 minutes off the highway and with lots of free parking. I also travel all over Nova Scotia to my clients’ favourite locations. I have photographed in many homes and even offices in Halifax and Truro! Being a baby photographer for over 30 years has been a lot of fun. Although I’m not yet a grandfather that is how I feel when I’m working with babies! I love to cuddle them and I can be as silly and juvenile as needed to get great expressions. My assistant is a newborn specialist and we work as a team with those babies under 14 days old.
