Classic baby photography is timeless.
There are so many ways to do baby photography. I love classic baby portraiture. My preference, and my specialty, is black and white. However, some of my clients love colour baby photos because I can capture that warm skin tone.
Now “classic” can mean a number of things. To me, as a Portrait Artist, it is using controlled lighting and posing to portray a likeness while capturing the personality. If you prefer a photojournalistic style there are hundreds of photographers out there for you to choose from but I’m not one of them. And I’m okay with that.
But if you want a more classic style of baby, child or family portrait then there are very few of us left. I strive every day to work with my clients to give them what they want in the highest quality possible. That is why I include a Design Meeting with every session. It is why I use an in-person projection viewing system for your proofs. (I have since the film days!) It is why I use a professional lab that provides only the top quality materials for prints and canvases. When it comes to baby photography I am not the cheapest or the fastest but I am the best. Your portraits will last a lifetime (or two) and your enjoyment of them will only increase with time. We think we’ll always remember what our babies look like – but we won’t. Our brains aren’t built that way. But having a portrait on the wall is like fertilizer for the brain and it improves our memories. Our memories then feed our heart and we not only remember accurately but we get those feelings again. Some mother’s even say they can smell their babies even years later when they look at their baby portraits. So – I can capture the looks of your baby today so you can feel and smell them when they grow up and move away tomorrow.
