Day 18 – Short and Sweet

Left Calgary around 0700 and headed out on Route 22 – the indirect, slower, more scenic route to Edmonton. Saw 9 deer before 730 and nothing after that. I enjoyed the scenery as I drove along the mountains but maybe too much so as I didn’t pay any attention to my gas gauge and came closer than I like to running out of gas!

Arrived in Edmonton shortly after 2 and surprised my daughter at work! Got a great big hug – nice to know she’s still my little sweetie who loves her Daddy! Unlike yesterday this was a very uneventful day riding wise (except for the gas fumes thing). Had a great conversation with Cathy at the the lab about products, etc. Then I rode out to Ashley’s home in Spruce Grove just ahead of most traffic and the she and i went out for supper at a sports bar. Just in time to see my Bruins lose to the Habs. The place went nuts – lots of Canadien fans!

Today is a city day as I’m going to visit a colleague or two and get some more ideas for when I get home. It will be a full summer  of sessions once I land home.

I’m still having issues getting images off my SD card. So I may have to wait until I get home as I don’t have the cord to download through the camera.
