A pretty calm and uneventful day in Edmonton. Had a chance to visit a colleague, Chris Stambaugh, at his home-based studio in the downtown area. Got a couple of new ideas from Chris on the administrative side of the business and we had a great lunch together. Been a few years since I have seen Chris when we were on a judging panel together. His work is great and his knowledge in art history makes me jealous.
I then headed over to the Harley dealership to drop my bike off for service and oil change. It usually gets done every 8000k so it was overdue for this trip. There is lots of sand still covering many corners/intersections and on one corner I felt my back tire slide a little even though I wasn’t going fast at all ( maybe 15kph). Thankfully I was paying attention and a back tire slide is relatively easy to pull out of. Ashley had made an appointment for me (on Monday) and told them I needed it back ASAP because I was just travelling through so the lady says,”It should be ready late on Tuesday but I’ll call you.” I laughed as I thought she was just kidding me – Nope. Well, after a deep breath, I smiled and reminded her of my situation and after some conversations with the service manager I should have it back today.
So my wife, Pam, arrives tonight at 10:03 and you know there will be lots of hugs and tears – I hope she is able to let go of Ashley before she suffocates!!
