Another wonderful day in the south. Got up to 92 degrees with just a light breeze. Took the “southerly” backroads route from Knoxville, Tennessee to Raleigh, North Carolina. Never spent a single mile on the Interstate. Nice scenery but nothing photo-worthy enough to stop our wonderful ride. Put on a little over 500 km today and the roads we were on through the Appalachians was nice and swervy and I was able to just lean back and forth into those curves.
Tomorrow we head to the Outer Banks to view some of the lighthouses and the houses on stilts. I’ve been there before but Pam has not. Then we will go north to Virginia via the Chesapeake Bay bridge/tunnel.
