Well, Thursday was an experience as w ran into a couple of traffic issues on the I-95. A burning car – fully engulfed in flames and another accident we did not see held us up a about an hour. Other than that it was a scorching hot day that saw us riding sleeveless the whole day. We did make it into North Carolina but not as far as planned.
Friday were were on the road by 6:15 and although it was nice and sunny the wind was cool so the leathers stayed on all day. We ran into another delay – this time about an hour or so – with a construction zone. This was the only time all day we wished we did not have our jackets on! Our goal was to get to Hartford, Ct. but only made it to Newburgh. But our hotel was almost right next to Orange County Choppers – it was just too bad they were closed. We saw 7 deer this evening as their bright reddish-rusty coats made them easy to see.
Saturday we were on the road at 7:45 and it was another beautiful day. 5 more deer out grazing this morning in the cool morning air. It was hot enough to ditch the jackets before lunchtime. We stopped in New Hampshire for a little shopping and then on to Kittery for a little more before heading to Bangor for the night. Only saw one deer this evening. We went out for one last supper as Pam wanted a steak from Longhorn. It’s been a great trip and we’ll be home Sunday before supper!
