Family Photographs on a regular basis is so important.
I have created family photograph for this wonderful family for quite a while. About every 3-4 years we would get together for an update . We would change seasons, locations, etc so no two ever looked anything like the others.
This family portrait, however, had extra meaning. We chose their new home on the shore of the Northumberland Strait. It was still early spring and not many leaves were out on the trees. I created a few images using their house as the background so we had some variety. But since they chose the location because of the water I knew all along that would be the main family photograph. This image is an “outtake” but you can get an idea that they are having fun! It wasn’t an overly warm day and a cool spring breeze was blowing. I love this image because it really captures all the personalities in this family.
Another version of this family photo is now proudly displayed in the home as a 46″ canvas. They also have albums with a variety of poses. As we are well aware we never know what the future holds. In the months after I created this family portrait the Dad started chemotherapy. Unfortunately we lost him just two days before Christmas that year.
We all wish that this would not happen. Life certainly wouldn’t be much fun if we worried about it all the time. But if nothing else this does remind us that we never know what tomorrow holds. Having a professional family photograph created on a regular basis at least freezes time for when we need it. I still see the Mom every couple of months and am happy to say they are all doing well.
