I am really hoping the showers forecast for tomorrow do not materialize BUT I am riding to Halifax rain or shine. Tomorrow is day 17 for the countdown and I am having the oil changed and a complete fender to fender service. I take my riding serious – especially when I have 6 straight days of highway riding before I have an “off-bike” day. At some point during this journey I will roll over 100,000K on this bike! That will call for an immediate roadside stop and the best selfie I can muster!
But enough about that – you want to know where I’m headed after Saskatoon so you can track my projected mileage. I will continue my westward direction as I head to Edmonton to see my wonderful and beautiful daughter and join up with my incredible wife! But before I go there I do have a little side trip planned to visit an old friend, Lionel, who was the best man at our wedding. I actually have not seen him since that weekend almost 27 years ago!
Once I reach Edmonton, Pam and I will be staying with Ashley for the long weekend so I’m sure we’ll do a little touring around the city, visit a few friends and just possibly the W.E.M. since Pam has never been.
After the weekend we’ll saddle up and head southeast to see the Arch! We will definitely be doing some sightseeing along the way. Hopefully (for Pam’s sanity) we avoid anything that even remotely looks like thunder clouds and worse since we’ll be back in Tornado Alley while that notorious season is still in play.
I hope this post gives you a decent idea of how I’m travelling and I assume you’re charting the route or making a guesstimate with each post. Also be sure to pay attention to my Facebook posts as I usually will mention little things and stops which will provide you with more details as to the route I’m planning. As I mentioned before, once the journey begins these posts will be more specific and there will be BONUS opportunities to add or subtract mileage from your original guess, but you’ll have to pay attention and be one of the first to get the BONUS questions right.
