Packing almost complete – 8 days until departure

The packing process was started yesterday and will finish today as it was laundry day and I had to wait for some clothes to get cleaned. The GPS has been updated and the tires have been studded . . . just kidding! However, by the looks of the weather in Ontario through Saskatchewan I would need it if I was taking the Canadian route to Washington. Once I get through NB I should be out of the risk of snow until I get to the Rockies. I think my route is southern enough to avoid the flooding areas of the Red River, so that only leaves the “Big One” – tornadoes! Enough said.

The Mileage Challenge route continues when my workshop is over in Florida and the pathway to home will lie before us. Since we only have four days to get home for Pam to get to work it will be a pretty direct route although not necessarily the one most people would drive! After we leave the Florida School of Photography we won’t be anywhere near the coast again until we are in New England. Our anticipated ETA in Truro is Monday, June 9.

So that’s it for Roadtrip 2014. If you are going to submit a guess for the $500 Mileage Challenge then you can now submit your “number” by email and by email ONLY. It is easier for me to store the entries that way. The email address to use is and I will send you a confirmation. If you do not receive a confirmation within 12 hours then I did not receive your entry so you may have to message me on Facebook about the issue. The first 5 entries will be awarded one opportunity to amend their mileage guess 3 weeks into my journey – taking advantage of all the information I post daily. Good luck to all andI hope you will enjoy following my travels. I’ll leave you today with a series of signs I encountered during my 2012 Roadtrip.
