As “The Big Reveal” approaches it’s time to prepare you for preserving your child’s dream for yourself, your child and for their children. These days you can get digital images put on everything from blankets, coffee cups, jewellery, puzzles, t-shirts – the list is virtually endless. So consumers buy this stuff and are happy with it for the short time they last before fading or wearing off. And so, many companies are making lots of money selling them – “all the power to them” the economist in me says and even the photographer in me sees the attraction. But, as a Portrait Artist, I believe Fine Art Portraits should be preserved in a manner which best exhibits the beauty, the form, the lighting and the story. A medium which will stand the test of time when it is displayed or shared with pride and with joy and with love.
With these thoughts in mind, and believing the images from The Ultimate Childhood Experience will be cherished and passed down for generations, your options for preserving them will be kept simple. For your Decor Portraits you can choose between a true archival canvas or a metal (coated aluminum), both of which have a life expectancy of over 100 years! The canvas can be framed for a more traditional look or displayed without a frame to be more contemporary. The metal option “floats” on your wall for the most modern look! Also available are high quality albums and books if you want the whole experience as it was created. These also make a wonderful “portable” keepsake which your child can take with them when they leave home. As your house becomes an “empty nest” I know you won’t be ready to give up your portrait too! And finally, the “sharing option” – Christmas cards. These are elegant folded cards, printed on a “metallic pearl” stock, which will make your images come alive. If you have stopped sending out Christmas cards over the past few years you will start again! The quality of these cards combined with images of your child in that most cherished fantasy will have you wanting to share.
You can probably tell I am excited about this style of Fine Art Portraiture but it may not be for the reasons that first comes to mind. It is because I am going to be bringing the wonder and awe of a childhood Christmas fantasy to a new generation of children and as a Portrait Artist I am going to be there to capture it! The window of “believing” is so short and getting shorter, in an internet world which encourages our children to grow up so fast, I am humbled to be a part of this Ultimate Childhood Experience. Bring on the Grandchildren!!
