The past few days with Ashley have been great! Not many km on the bike but I knew that. Pam arrived safe on Friday night and we’ve been doing some tourist things. Visited the West Edmonton Mall, Fort Edmonton Park, Cabela’s, etc. The weather has been good and tonight I created some family portraits of the three of us plus Brysco (Ashley’s black lab). When you have a well trained dog you can use the camera self-timer and a tennis ball !!
Today was a motorcycling mileage milestone – we rolled the Harley over 100,000 km!! Not a lot of bikers will ride that many in their lives and I’ve done it in on this bike in just over four seasons. This trip has definitely been the one that tested my skills in many ways. If you’ve been reading this blog you know about my run in with snow and ice pellets, In Montana and I alluded to another incident last week on my way to Calgary. I wanted to tell Pam in person first but I had to dodge flying plywood as a flat deck trailer came apart just as I was being passed! Obviously I avoided a major incident since I’m typing this but all that mileage and the practice I do came in handy in the past week.
Tomorrow around noon Pam and I will say “see you in August” to our wonderful daughter and head southeast to Saskatoon, then Winnipeg on Wednesday and on toward St. Louis on Saturday. Then we’ll be Arkansas bound to visit friends for a couple of days.
