Roadtrip 2014 – Day 6. From 30 to 82!!

Started today off before 0600 and headed west, BUT got about 15 inures down the road and remembered that I left my phone and laptop chargers plugged into the wall. Turned around and headed east – left the motel for the 2nd time at 0629 and it was a brisk 37 I think the sign said. But before long I was on top of the mountain pass (8670 feet elevation) and it was 30 degrees!! By the time I got down to the bottom it was very warm and it just got warmer as the day went on with a high of 82 – yeeehawwww!!

The other miscue today was a key issue for the bike trunk and saddlebags – they went missing sometime between breakfast and  5 p.m. Not sure how, as they are always on a carabiner with the HD Fob and I still have those two. Luckily the saddlebags were unlocked so for now all I can’t get into is the trunk – who needs clean clothes anyway??

All in all with the great weather, the plethora of Pronghorn sightings (103 before breakfast and 111 in all) it was my best overall day yet for both weather and mileage (just over 1200km). For those of you who are keeping track I also spotted 3 more deer and about a dozen hawks on fence posts!! I did take some photos but the cheap card reader I bought at WalMart won’t read them.
