Studio Portraits are timeless.
Whether you want a family photo or a child photo our studio portraits will be timeless. Classic or contemporary. Black and white or colour. Casual or formal. Interacting with each other or the camera. No weather worries (short of a snow storm) so plan it, book, it and do it!
These two portraits are very classic in style, yet very simple in design. Not quite formal but not casual either. The lighting however, is a little more complicated. I had to ensure there was separation from the black clothing and the black background. I needed two fairly strong kicker lights from behind and a hairlight from above. These types of studio portraits are all about the faces. Using a modified type of faux parabolic light ensured I could accent the facial features. The oval composition in the family portrait is a subtle way of showing the family closeness.
My studio has several specialty sets and can accommodate larger groups. I also love photographing pets.
