Wedding Photography -how to get high quality, experience and save money!
There is no doubt that to get the best wedding photography is going to cost you a lot of money. It should! The top wedding photographers are skilled, experienced and on the cutting edge of style. They usually have at least a second shooter and maybe an assistant too! And believe it or not the whole 12-14 hours they spend with a couple on that special day is less than a quarter of the hours they will invest in that wedding. Yes – most top wedding photographers put 80 -120 hours into a wedding. I know because that used to be me.
I have done 50+ weddings in a year. I have received over $8000 for the top wedding photography I ever did. AND THEN I burnt out. Then I didn’t enjoy weddings anymore. I stopped staying up with the current styles. I did not advertise at the wedding shows or even online. Then it happened. I had a year without a single wedding. And then a second.
I was concentrating on creating great family portraits and black and white child portraits. I learned how to paint digitally. I developed our incredible Hybrid Painting. I became more of a Portrait Artist than a photographer.
But wedding photography has been calling me back. I have all this experience and skill and I see so many couples settling for wedding photographs by camera owners without knowledge of light, lighting, composition, posing, dynamics etc because they don’t have the budget. Now don’t get me wrong – everyone has to start somewhere. But how much do you want to save to be that start?
So, if your budget doesn’t allow you to hire the top guns and you don’t want to risk hiring the learner I have the solution. I offer a short day coverage (3 hours) which includes the bride’s home, the ceremony and one location. It will include approximately 200, full size,colour-corrected digital files (with complete printing and usage release) and 50- 4″x6″ prints of my choice. Mileage will be by quote.
With my experience and skills you can be assured of receiving great wedding photography of the images that matter to most couples. You could then have a friend with a camera or new photographer spend the rest of the day with you to capture the more candid images.
