1 degree at 0700 this morning so I am very glad my departure time was NEXT Saturday at 0700! I do have heated gear as you can see in the photo but I hope next weekend is much warmer. The gear I have is made by Gerbings and the pants plug into the jacket liner which in turn plug into a quick-attach harness coming from my battery. I also have gloves which plug into the jacket sleeves and believe me if I were riding today I would have the gloves on too! The controller you see allows me to separately control the temperature of the pants and the jacket. I rarely need either more than 70% but if any of you are snowmobilers you might be interested in this stuff!
It is hard to believe I am now less than one week away from the trip of a lifetime for most motorcyclists. When I started “planning” this trip almost two years ago it was almost a dream but as the saying goes,”if you can think it you can do it” and I am a huge believer in the power of the mind. As the late Henry Ford said,”if you think you can or you think you can’t you are right”. And while I’m on a roll with the motivational quotes I will end with my life motto,”Do or Do Not – There is No Try” – Yoda.
