Day 31 – Harley Day!

What a great day! Weather was warm and sunny from start to finish. We started off today with a visit to Capital City Harley Davidson to get my cruise control fixed and a new back tire. Great service – in at 9 out by 11. They even had a special on which saved me $80! And they fixed a Recall issue too! From there we went east to Milwaukee and the Harley Museum restaurant for lunch and then through the Museum itself. What a great place. It was awesome to see all of those old Harleys and read about the changes and the events which shaped Harley Davidson as we know it today. We left the Museum at 4 so we could beat the traffic which was bad enough because of all the road construction. Of course this meant we would hit Chicago at rush hour which was not a happy thought. So we detoured westward and stopped early.

Tomorrow is the big day as I finish off my “lower 48 quest” before we head to the South for warmer temperatures and a more relaxed finish to our vacation. We’ll be stopping in Kentucky to visit a friend and then to Tennessee to see Jack!
