Day 6 – hot, sunny and a great visit

posted in: Roadtrip | 1

Sorry this post is a little late but I was tired last night. It was a great riding day as the sun was out from the get-go. Left Monroe ( home of the Duck Dynasty) for Shreveport after giving the bike a quick wash. After all the rain earlier on Wednesday it was covered in road grime. Self wash bay was only $1.00 for 5 minutes!
Got to my colleague’s studio around 1030 and got the tour. Harrington House Studio is in a great old Louisiana home and is very impressive to walk into and Pat has the decor matched to the house. He has very nice staff and his outdoor studio is small but packed with plants, building, gazebo and even a beach area!! We went to lunch with a friend of his and I had a nice Jambalaya and Pat treated us to 2 different cheesecakes as the restaurant was known for these. We had a caramel and cream variety and a white chocolate raspberry one – mmmmmmm 🙂
On the road again I got off the interstate as soon as possible and headed up to Pine Bluff, Arkansas. It was a nice road through mostly woods but very little traffic but not really much else to see.
Well that’s it for now – I’m headed to Prim to see another colleague, Darren and his family. Oh – btw I did hit the 50,000 mark on the Harley so I stopped right there on the side of the road and did a quick self-portrait.
